“Euphoria” actor denies toxic environment behind the scenes of the series

Actor Colman Domingo, who plays the character Ali Muhammad in the HBO series “Euphoria”, denied that there was any fight or any type of confusion behind the scenes of the production.

He has been defending the series against reports that the second season was toxic to the actors, with alleged mistreatment and very long filming.

“I will not invalidate the experience [de ninguém]. But working on television requires long hours,” said Domingo. The statements were made in an interview with the Independent newspaper.

“Sometimes you work up to 14 hours a day. And then you have to go home and prepare. You have to really live and work in a very methodical way. Many young actors may not be prepared for the task or may not have the same work ethic,” he added.

He also told the newspaper that he has worked in the industry for 32 years. “When I heard these reports, I thought, ‘Where does this come from? It’s just a normal day at work. Be professional.”

In the same interview, Domingo also praised the series’ creator, Sam Levinson. He reportedly had a falling out with Barbie Ferreira, who plays Kat Hernandez, over her character direction.

After the case, the actress left the series. Ferreira later said the rumors about problems with the breeder were false.

In February 2022, the website Daily Beast published a report in which supporting actors from the series stated that there were “multiple complaints related to the production not providing meals on time and refusing to allow people to use the bathroom”, among other problems.

HBO defended the production and told Variety magazine that no formal complaint had been filed.
