The court’s statement said that “various procedural irregularities” affected Qualcomm’s right of defense and invalidated the European Commission’s analysis of the case.
The fine had been imposed in early 2018 by the bloc’s antitrust chief, Margrethe Vestager, on the grounds that Qualcomm abused its market dominance by paying Apple billions between 2011 and 2016 on the condition that it did not buy. from other companies, harming competition.
