Eurostat: Big drop in industrial production in March

Industrial production fell sharply in March, both in the Eurozone and in the EU. after the rise in February, according to data released today by Eurostat.

In particular, in March industrial production fell by 1.8% in the Eurozone and by 1.2% in the EU. compared to February 2022, according to estimates by the European Statistical Office.

In February, industrial production increased by 0.5% in the Eurozone and by 0.6% in the EU.

Compared to March 2021, industrial production fell 0.8% in the Eurozone and increased by 0.7% in the EU.

Among the Member States for which data are available, the largest monthly increases were recorded in Lithuania (+ 11.3%), Estonia (+ 5.1%), Bulgaria and Greece (+ 5.0%). On the other hand, the largest decreases were recorded in Slovakia (-5.3%), Germany (-5.0%) and Luxembourg (-3.9%).
