The moment of truth has come: after two semifinals capable of gluing more than 5 million people in front of the TV, a record if we remember the 533,000 tuned to Rai4 in 2021, the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, returned to Italy after 31 years, is preparing to greet and, of course, to proclaim the winning song of this edition. The news is that, after the exclusion of Achille Lauro and Emma Muscat, our country will gather around Mahmood and Blanco and theirs Chills, date among the favorites together with the piece proposed by the Ukrainian delegation.
Our boys will perform for noniwith the hope that the public from all over Europe will support their enterprise as well as the host country of this Eurovision which, at least for the moment, seems to have convinced everyone. From the sparkling management of Laura Pausini, Alessandro Cattelan and Mika under the captivating direction of Duccio Forzano and Cristian Biondani, passing through the impeccable organization and performance able to remain etched in everyone’s memory such as that of Diodato and the duet by Laura and Mika in support of peace, Eurovision is preparing, as young people say, to close with a bang before the curtain falls.
Together with the 20 countries that passed the two semi-finals unscathed, which took place on Tuesday 10 and Thursday 12 May, we will finally see even at the performances of the Big Fivethat is, of the five countries that participate by right in Eurovision (Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom). The commentary on Rai1 will once again be curated by Gabriele Corsi, Cristiano Malgioglio and Carolina Di Domenico but, for all those who prefer to follow the event in English, just go to the RaiPlay website and select the appropriate option. Guests of the evening Gigliola Cinquettiwhich won Eurovision in 1964, and Måneskin, who return to perform at the event that marked their entry into the international showbiz.
