Lawyer Anic Almeida Peixoto Herdy was killed by mechanical asphyxiation, according to expertise carried out by the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Petrópolis, in the Serrana region of Rio de Janeiro.
The woman’s body was found in the home of computer technician Lourival Corrêa Fatica this Wednesday (27). He confessed to the lawyer’s murder.
Due to the condition of the body, it will not be possible to hold a wake.
The lawyer’s body was found with handcuffs and was buried upright and concreted in a footing built to support the garage wall of Lourival’s house, in Teresópolis, also in the Serrana region of Rio.
According to the Civil Police, when investigators discovered the lawyer’s body, Lourival changed her version in the statement and claimed that Anic Herdy’s husband, Benjamin Herdy, was the one who ordered the crime.
Remember the case
Anic was last seen on February 29th of this year, while leaving a shopping mall in Petrópolis on foot. According to investigations, the lawyer had boarded a car driven by the IT technician, Lourival.
The two went to a motel in Itaipava, district of Petrópolis. In testimony, Lourival confessed that it was in this place that the crime took place.
He then wrapped the victim in a sheet and transported him to the house where he lived and buried him under a wall footing. To prevent anyone from finding out, he covered the area with cement.
On Wednesday, agents executed a search and seizure warrant at Lourival’s home after he confessed to the place where he buried the victim.
After unearthing the corpse, technicians saw that there were handcuffs on the body and the clothes were the same as those that Anic was wearing when he disappeared. In addition, the body had silicone implants and a ring written Benjamin Cordeiro Herdy, the name of the lawyer’s husband.
Despite the facts, the technicians needed to carry out an examination to determine whether it belonged to the victim because the body was in an advanced state of decomposition.
During Anic’s disappearance, the family was being coerced into paying a ransom. Lourival was arrested after the family paid R$4.6 million, but the lawyer was already dead.
Investigation
In the last seven months, there has been a breach of data confidentiality, telematics, searches and seizures and numerous investigations. The agents went to Foz Iguaçu, Paraguay, to investigate the case.
During the investigations, the police made four arrests, seized vehicles and kidnapped property that the defendant acquired after robbing the victim. In total, the agents recovered almost R$1.5 million reais.
During the investigations, Lourival preferred to remain silent.
