In the seizure of mobile phones and other electronic devices of its mayor New YorkEric Adams, FBI agents proceeded as part of a federal investigation into his campaign finance, his lawyer announced Friday.

According to the New York Times, the search warrant executed at Ms. Suggs’ residence was intended to find evidence of alleged collusion between the mayoral campaign, the Turkish government and a Turkish-owned Brooklyn real estate company.
According to the publication, authorities mean to ascertain whether donations were made by the Turkish government or Turkish citizens to Mr. Adams through a system that falsely impersonated other donors.
The connection between the seizure of Mr. Adams’ devices and the search of the residence where Brianna Suggs lives has not been made clear.
In his deposition, Mr. Johnson said that “after becoming aware of the federal investigation, he learned that an individual has recently acted inappropriately,” without elaborating.
