FBI Executes Search Warrant on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home, Says Former President

The FBI executed a search warrant Monday at Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence in Palm Beach, Florida, the former US president confirmed to CNN.

Trump declined to say why the FBI agents were in Mar-a-Lago, but said the operation was unannounced and “they even broke into my vault.”

“My beautiful home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida is currently under siege, invaded and occupied by a large group of FBI agents,” it said in a statement.

In 2021, the former President of the United States’ decision to use the property as his permanent residence came to be legally challenged.

The property, which belonged to socialite Marjorie Merriweather Post, was purchased by Trump in 1985. Eight years later, he decided to turn the place into a club and generate profits from the property.

When Trump turned the site from a private residence into a club, he reportedly agreed with the city to limit his stays in Mar-a-Lago. Moving there would be a violation of the agreement, according to some residents.
