Fed: Slow growth expected in the coming months

Dallas Federal Reserve Chairman Robert Kaplan said Thursday that the next two to three months will be challenging, adding that it expects to see slow growth during that period, as reported Reuters.

Kaplan further noted that his forecast is for 5% GDP growth in 2021, but acknowledged that there are big downside risks related to coronavirus infections.

Market reaction

These comments do not appear to have a significant impact on market sentiment. At the time of writing, the S&P 500 index it was up 0.82% on the day to 3,861.
