The President of the Federal Reserve Bank (Fed) of Boston, Susan Collinsstated on Friday that he sees signs that financial conditions remain favorable for the Fed. In an interview with CNBC, Collins mentioned that the latest Consumer Price Index data was promising.
However, he warned against prematurely declaring victory over high inflation and stressed the importance of patience. Collins stated: “I would not rule out the possibility of further tightening“.
Regarding the labor market, the president of the Boston Fed pointed out positive signs that indicate that it is gradually reaching a balance.
Market reaction
On Friday, the Dollar retreats, consolidating important weekly losses. The DXY is trading slightly above 104.00 and is about to test monthly lows.
