Federal Police will investigate event in SP in which women would have been used as “guinea pigs”

Embratur informed this Thursday (16) that it called the Federal Police to investigate alleged sexual exploitation committed by a group of foreign tourists, through an event that took place at the end of February in a mansion in São Paulo.

The president of Embratur, Marcelo Freixo, will have a meeting with the general director of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, next Monday (20th) to discuss the matter.

“People who want to commit crimes are not welcome in our country. Tourism for the purpose of sexual exploitation violates our laws and those who practice it will be subjected to due investigation, judgment and punishment”, says a note released by the public company responsible for promoting Tourism in Brazil.

Also according to Embratur, for decades, Brazil has implemented intersectoral policies to combat tourism for the purpose of sexual exploitation, with internal actions of social assistance, prevention with education and criminal investigation; and external, in the reconstruction of the country’s image.

The case in question occurred last month. Two foreigners allegedly charged between US$ 12,000 and US$ 50,000 from men from other countries interested in taking a “course to conquer women”.

To this end, a party was scheduled in a luxury house in São Paulo. The problem is that the guests claim not to know that they would be “guinea pigs” at the event. Some registered an occurrence with the Civil Police. Now, the situation will also be investigated by the federal authorities.
