The “Afternoon Session” movie that became a cult over the years, “Time Spell” turns 30 this year 2023. The feature film, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell , against the backdrop of Groundhog Day, celebrated this Thursday (2) in the United States. In English the title of the film is Groundhog Day, that is, Groundhog Day.
In the plot, Bill is the weather forecast presenter on a TV Phil – arrogant and moody – who goes to a small town to cover the tradition: if the friendly rodent leaves the burrow where it was hibernating without seeing its own shadow, it means that spring will arrive soon, otherwise it is a sign that there will be another six weeks of winter ahead.
If the forecast doesn’t work out, it’s the meteorologist’s fault – of course.
When trying to leave the city he gets stuck in the city because of a blizzard and, like a curse, he starts to live in a loop and wakes up every morning trapped on the same day.
Phil doesn’t understand why he got stuck and can’t get out of Groundhog Day.
As a strategy to get rid of the curse – after several unsuccessful attempts, he kidnaps the Punxsutawney marmot, throws himself off a cliff with it and, even so, returns to February 2nd the next morning.
He continues to live that day until he discovers what can make it to February 3rd.
Not only did his character suffer from Groundhog Day, during filming Murray was bitten twice by the animal and had to be vaccinated for rabies. from Marmorta.
