‘File 81’: the new Netflix mystery series that won’t let you sleep peacefully

file 81 has come to Netflix as part of an original production, in which suspense, lies and the supernatural are the main dishes. The series is an adaptation of the podcast namesake created by Marc Sollinger and Daniel Powell.

In just a few days, the show has been placed within the top 10 of the platform streaming and here we share what it is about and why you should see it. It will be your best option to marathon this weekend.

file 81 is based on a podcast of the same name, created by Marc Sollinger and Daniel Powell, who also serve as co-producers of the series. The podcast is in its third season and premieres a new chapter every Wednesday. This maintains a format in which the presenters recount the supposed recordings that they have found in a building, but these are not real, but are part of a series of fictional stories, inspired by horror books.

On the other hand, one of the aspects that the public has loved the most is the return to the 90s with the use of VHS tapes, since one of the main characters will have the task of restoring this type of recording. A very subtle way to go back in time.

Dan Turner, digital archivist, will accept the task of restoring a collection of VHS tapes from 1994, starring documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras, who discovers a dangerous cult in the building where he happened to live during his childhood and in which his parents died during a mysterious fire

Given the circumstances, Dan will go to great lengths to find out what happened to Melody and what’s on those dates, but what he’ll face along the way will take his breath away.

file 81 is an exclusive Netflix premiere and consists of eight 55-minute episodes that you can watch quietly during a weekend or during a sleepless night if you dare.
