#FilterDrop: the campaign that says yes to naturalness and NO to filters

Social media filters have become one of our main enemies, because in every beauty ad we see almost unreal faces, with perfectly smooth skin and non-existent pores that make us wonder if something is wrong with us.

It is not news that advertising is full of tweaks and filters to sell “perfection” when all they do is cause insecurity in the followers. Given this, makeup artist Sasha Louise Pallari started an inspiring campaign on Instagram called #FilterDrop, where she encourages women to publish their natural faces.

In a short time, this campaign spread significantly, as the Advertising Standards Authority in the United Kingdom took action on the matter and spoke out against advertisements that deceptively exaggerate the effects that their products are capable of achieving.

Many women have joined the #FilterDrop challenge and share their faces without makeup to fight the beauty ads full of retouching. Here we show you some of them.
