Taylor Swift ended her stay in Rio de Janeiro with the last of the three shows on “The Eras Tour”. The presentations took place last Friday (17), Sunday (19) and yesterday (20), after the show that was scheduled for Saturday (18) was postponed.
The singer continues to present three shows in São Paulo, at Allianz Parque, on the 24th, 25th and 26th of November, the last stop of the tour in 2023.
During her visit to Rio, the singer’s shows were highlighted due to the death of a fan last Friday, after falling ill at Taylor’s first show in Brazil. The singer, however, has not commented on the topic so far.
But the mobilization around the event involved the municipal and state governments, and even representatives from the country and other states, for new safety standards at shows, especially regarding water supply.

Friday (17)
Tragedy during show
The first night of Taylor Swift’s tour in Rio was marked by the death of Ana Clara Benevides, 23, who fell ill during the show and died after being taken to the hospital.
The tragedy led the federal government to order the producer of the T4F event to guarantee access to water in all of the singer’s performances in Brazil and to issue an ordinance allowing the entry of water bottles into all shows from that moment on.
The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, defined the new rule on the Saturday following the event.
From today onwards, as determined by the Consumer Secretariat of the Ministry of Justice, WATER bottles for personal use, in suitable material, will be allowed to enter shows. And companies producing shows with high exposure to heat must provide…

Repercussion
In the international press, the news gained prominence after the singer published a text on social media lamenting the young woman’s death.
“I can’t believe I’m writing these words, but it’s with a broken heart that I say we lost a fan tonight before my show. I can’t even tell you how devastated I am by this. There is very little information. I have something other than the fact that she was incredibly beautiful and too young,” she wrote.
“That was the last thing I thought would happen when we decided to bring this tour to Brazil,” he added.

Show postponed
Singer Taylor Swift announced the postponement of The Eras Tour show that she would perform in Rio de Janeiro on Saturday (18), two hours before the scheduled start of the performance at the Nilton Santos stadium, Engenhão.
At around 5:30 pm, the American singer published a text in her official Instagram stories announcing that the show had been postponed due to the heat wave hitting the capital of Rio de Janeiro.
On social media, the singer’s fans expressed dissatisfaction, as they had already waited throughout the afternoon to enter the stadium.

Sunday (19)
No mentions
Taylor Swift’s second performance in Brazil with “The Eras Tour” in Engenhão last Sunday (19), with an audience of more than 60 thousand people and thermometers showing milder temperatures.
The singer, however, did not directly mention the fan’s death at any point, as was already expected, after her statement on social media.
Surprise songs
The audience managed to get emotional during the show’s surprise songs, which were “Dancing With Our Hands Tied” from the album “Reputation” It is “Bigger Than The Whole Sky” in “Midnights”.
The tour’s setlist consists of 45 songs, two of which are surprises and – as a rule – different in each show, from the singer’s nine albums.
On the networks, fans interpreted the song “Bigger Than The Whole Sky ” as a discreet and indirect tribute to Ana Benevides.
