Firefighter stops to feed her baby during fire; her little one needed her

A few days ago María Lizárraga, originally from Santiago del Estero, Argentina and a firefighter by vocation, touched and surprised all Internet users, because despite being on her workday, she took time to breastfeed her baby during a fire.

This action not only showed María’s commitment to her work, but also to motherhood, since the latter is a responsibility that is present 24/7 and cannot be avoided.

After a while, he decided to get back into action

Lizárraga had been absent from the fire station for some time due to her maternity leave. However, that day he decided to go to see his colleagues and support something if necessary. It was then that the emergency call was received to attend to a fire at the Santiago del Estero Autodrome. Initially, she was not going to attend the fire, but the incident seemed to need all possible help.

The mission needed a lot of help

Lizárraga left her little Benjamin with a companion at the station. The baby was asleep, so it would not cause any problems for his partner. However, when the fire truck arrived at the scene of the fire, everyone realized that it really was something huge.

When I arrived, I realized that it would not take a minute, not fifteen or come, but many hours.

The fire brigade began work at 10:00 pm, but when they least expected it, it was already 1:30 am and they continued trying to extinguish the flames. After so many hours, Benjamin woke up. Maria’s coworker sent her messages telling her that her baby was awake and hungry, so she would go to the place so she could feed him.

He told me he was there, I asked permission and I breastfed him in 20 minutes. Then they took him to the barracks and I continued working one more pull until 4:00 a.m.

While she breastfeeds her little one, her partner took a photo of her, which she uploaded to social networks. From one moment to the next, he had already been around the world.

Motherhood is not at odds with work

Maria did not know anything about the photo until the next day when she returned to the barracks. While he was chatting with his colleagues, a social media post came out where his photograph was. For her it was not something of another world, because that situation was also experienced with her daughter, who is now six years old, but she was happy that more women were able to see that motherhood does not have to limit a profession.

This is the reality that women have: sometimes we go with our children to the barracks, we leave them with colleagues, we work and then we return to our homes and fulfill the role of mother.
