The first part of the largest broadcasting auction energy since 2019 ended on Thursday morning (30), with all lots sold and discounts that reached 50.33%. The event takes place at the headquarters of B3 in São Paulo, with 13 lots, and will continue in the afternoon.

Altogether, the lots represent 5,425 kilometers of transmission lines and 6,180 megavolt-amperes (MVA) in substations transformation capacity. The winners will be responsible for the construction of the lines, which should take between 42 and 60 months, and subsequent maintenance.

The government’s initial expectation is that the auction represented R$ 15.3 billion in investments, with a projection of generating 31,697 direct jobs during the construction period.

The transmission lines will cover the states of Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Bahia, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Rondônia, Santa Catarina, São Paulo and Sergipe.

In the first part, starting at 10:00 am, lots 1, 2, 3, 9, 10 and 11 were traded. Bids had to respect a maximum amount of Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP), with the winner offering the lowest amount.

The first batch, which includes 13 facilities in the states of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, was acquired by Consórcio Verde, with RAP in the amount of R$ 283.3 million and with a discount of 47.34%.

Most of the planned investment is concentrated in the first three lots. Of the BRL 15.3 billion projected, BRL 12.27 billion will be for large-scale transmission, capable of draining photovoltaic renewable energy.

“Investments in a robust transmission system will allow new investments in energy generation, especially in the northern region of Minas Gerais, which has a low human development index (HDI), bringing more jobs and opportunities”, according to the federal government.

The purpose of the investments is also to improve service conditions in the Acre and not amazon especially the integration of the Humaitá region (AM), which is currently isolated from the National Interconnected System (SIN).

Plots 8 to 12 belong to areas that have already been bid for, but which have not had the projects implemented and whose contracts have expired already declared by the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MMS). They have an estimated investment of R$ 2.19 billion.

The project also includes a transmission network in the region of Novo Progresso (PA) and in the amapá . The transmission network in For should bring investment to other infrastructure sectors, such as mining, according to the government statement.
