Five people, three men and two women, were arrested in flagrante delicto this Tuesday (17), accused of participating in a gang specialized in counterfeiting and selling anabolic steroids and other drugs without health registration.
In Operation Steroid Free, in reference to the free trade of substances, around 40 federal police officers served eight search and seizure warrants in the cities of Presidente Prudente, Pirapozinho, Regente Feijó and Indiana.
The police also seized a large amount, still unaccounted for, of anabolic steroids. After a court decision, the product must be incinerated.
According to the investigations, which began with an anonymous complaint, the criminal group was illegally importing raw materials for the manufacture of anabolic steroids. Afterwards, he sold the products through contacts on social networks. Illicit drugs were shipped to consumers across the country.
The accused may answer for the crimes of falsifying, corrupting, adulterating or altering a product intended for therapeutic or medicinal purposes, importing or exporting prohibited goods and criminal association.
