Asian and Australian airlines today canceled flights to and from the Indonesian tourist island of Bali due to the eruption of a volcano on a neighboring island. Australian airlines Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar, as well as Malaysia Airlines, AirAsia and Malaysia’s Indigo, Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific, Singapore’s Scoot and India’s Indigo canceled some or all of their flights, according to AFP reporter at Bali airport. These cancellations are due to the eruption of the Levotobi Laki-Laki volcano on the island of Flores, located about 800 kilometers east of Bali, spewing volcanic ash and smoke 9 kilometers high.
