Flu vaccine: Butantan delivers 1st batch of doses against Darwin strain to SUS

O Butantan Institute announced that on Friday (25) it had delivered the first batch of flu vaccines to the National Immunization Program (NIBP) this year. In all, there were 2 million doses.

The immunizing agent that will be distributed by the Unified Health System (SUS) in 2022 will protect against the subtype Darwinof H3N2related to the Influenza outbreak at the end of last year, the H1N1 and the B.

According to the institution, the first batch was sent before the deadline, set for March, “after the data obtained on the new strains were sent and approved by the National Health Surveillance Agency (anvisa)”.

The national campaign will have 80 million doses of vaccine against the Influenza virus, half of which will be delivered by the end of next month and the rest by the end of April, according to Butantan.

Annually, the immunizer is modified based on the three subtypes that most circulated in the Southern Hemisphere in the previous year.

Health declaration requirement for those arriving in Brazil

The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) extended, on Friday (25), the waiver period for the presentation of the Traveler’s Health Declaration for the 2nd of March.

According to the ordinance published on January 20th, the mandatory document for international boarding of travelers to Brazil must be presented to the airline responsible for the flight before boarding.

However, on February 24, an oscillation in the availability of access to the electronic form system was detected, according to Anvisa.

To avoid inconvenience, Anvisa had waived the presentation of the document until this Saturday (26). Due to the instability and in view of the need for technical adjustments, the agency extended the period of exemption from presenting the document until 11:59 pm on March 2, Brasília time.
