As reported by the TASS news agency, the Magistrates’ Court of the Tagansky District of Moscow ruled on the complaint of Roskomnadzor regarding the TikTok short video service. The company-developer was found guilty under part 2 of p. 13.41. Administrative Code (violation of the procedure for restricting access to information, access to which is subject to restriction in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation on information) and fined 2.5 million rubles for refusing to remove illegal content. In this case, we are talking about calls for teenagers to go to an unauthorized rally in Moscow and other cities of Russia in January this year.
By the way, Odnoklassniki and VKontakte have already received fines for similar violations. Their amount is 4 and 1.5 million rubles, respectively. Representatives of social networks announced their intention to appeal the court decision. However, Twitter got the most, which was fined 8.9 million rubles for refusing to remove illegal content.
Hearings were also scheduled for April 6 regarding Telegram for the same violations, but the court session was postponed to April 12. Roskomnadzor has drawn up three protocols each on Facebook and Google, these cases will be considered on May 4 this year.
