Four iconic instruments that defined music up for auction

In auction four flagships were sold musical instrumentstwo of which belonged to famous musicians and defined her music.

In total, three guitars and a trumpet reached $2,061,200while they helped shape both rock and jazz.

Here are the four items sold and their history:

Gibson SG

THE 1964 Gibson SG electric guitar, it belonged to the legendary Eric Clapton and thanks to her he formed his characteristic musical sound. The musical instrument sold for $1,270,000, while the starting price ranged from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000.

It is considered a work of art and is decorated with colors from the psychedelia era, while Clapton got it when he formed Cream with Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker. Then, the band’s manager, Robert Stigwood, asked the members to play instruments with psychedelic decorations to impress the audience who were not used to such moves.

1959 Gibson Les Paul

In the “hammer” there was also one 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard Sunburst for $585,000, which was in good condition. In fact, it is considered a highly collectible guitar, because only 643 pieces have been made in 1959 and is the musical instrument that shaped rock music.

1954 Fender

A 1954 Fender Stratocaster Sunburst it sold for $130,000 and this particular piece is considered a collector’s item because it is extremely clean in its construction and is signed “Virginia” and dated “9/23/54”.

Trumpet Martin Committee

THE trumpet Martin Committee of 1962 which it belonged to legendary trumpeter Dizzy Gillespiesold for 76,200, with an estimate of $30,000 to $50,000.

Made to order for Gillespie in 1962 by the Martin Company and for a time was on display at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix, Arizona.

In fact, it was accompanied by a letter of insurance from J. Landress Brass LLC, signed by Joshua D. Landress.
