After almost four months, the actors’ strike against Hollywood film and television studios came to an end on November 9th.
With the end of the strike announced and the necessary adjustments to the premiere calendar for 2024, Netflix decreed the end of five productions.
“Glamorous”, “Sombra e Ossos”, and the adult animations “Agente Elvis”, “Farzar” and “Capitão Fall” will not return for new seasons on streaming. The information was confirmed by the platform to “Variety” magazine.
The highlight, without a doubt, was “Shadow and Bone”, based on the collection of young adult best-sellers by Leigh Bardugo, which had two seasons and a fervent fan base that campaigned on social media so that the series fantasy was renewed.
On her Instagram profile, Bardugo said she was heartbroken and deeply disappointed by the news. However, she reinforced her gratitude.
“Most authors never get to see their work adapted. Many who do it end up regretting the experience. I am one of the few who can look at an adaptation with pride and great joy”, he pointed out.
In the plot, the audience follows a fantasy world, devastated by war, where the orphan Alina Starkov, played by Jessie Mei Li, discovers that she has extraordinary powers and becomes the target of dark forces.

“Glamorous”
“Glamorous”, which arrived on the platform in June this year, brought Kim Cattral to the cast, giving life to a veteran model, owner of a cosmetics line who served as a mentor to a young man on his journey of self-discovery, professional chaos and love challenges.
“Agent Elvis”
In “Agent Elvis”, the animated series for adults, created by Priscilla Presley and John Eddie, Elvis swaps rock for espionage and joins a secret program with the mission of stopping villains from destroying the world.
“Captain Fall”
Completing the list, “Captain Fall”, developed by the duo Jon Iver Helgaker and Jonas Torgersen, creators of “Norseman”, presents a very naive captain hired to take the helm of a luxury cruise ship.
However, what seemed like a dream turns into a nightmare, as he ends up becoming the scapegoat of a smuggling operation.
“Do it”
Finally, “Farzar” revolved around Prince Fichael, the son of a selfish former hero and current king of a planet who, during an alien attack, discovers he is living a big lie. The creation is by Roger Black and Waco O’Guin, from “Paradise PD”.
Renewed series
On the other hand, series such as “One Piece”, “Ginny & Georgia”, “Outer Banks”, “The Lincoln Lawyer”, “XO, Kitty”, “Heartstopper”, “The Night Agent”, “The Diplomat”, “FUBAR ”, “Sweet Magnolias” and “Castlevania: Nocturne”, were renewed.
