From Lady Gaga to Demi Lovato: all the celebs at Biden’s Inauguration Day

The eyes of the whole world today will be on Washington for theInauguration Day that is, the inauguration ceremony of the president-elect Joe Biden. The demonstration marks the formal beginning of the new presidential term and, usually, is a fairly complex and structured event in which there is the oath and the speech of the president, a military parade in one of the main streets of the US capital, Pennsylvania Avenue, and various galas at the White House.

Because of Covid, this time things will be a little different, but our celebs will not miss to embellish the whole day. Indeed, the artists’ performances have always been the glamorous part of this ceremony: you remember Beyoncé that sings At last to the spouses Obama at their first presidential ball?

The first name on the list this year is that of Lady Gaga who will sing the national anthem, immediately after the oath. Gaga is one of the most active supporters of Joe Biden: at the end of the electoral campaign he had delivered a rather inspired speech in favor of the Democratic candidate and used his social channels to get his fans to vote. No wonder she is the one who opens the dance.

After the interpreter of Stupid love, it will be up to Jennifer Lopez. Little is known about the performance: will it be a medley of his successes or something else? It will remain a last minute surprise, but ours JLo she has already stated that she is particularly excited. It is not the first time that she has participated in similar initiatives: in 2016, she had performed in favor of Hillary Clinton during a stop on his election tour. Sure, the stakes are a little higher now, but I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

Obviously the day cannot end like this. After the oath and the “virtual” parade, we will proceed with Celebrating America, a sort of 90-minute television special in which live performances and interventions will alternate: before Biden and the vice president Kamala Harris, they will also speak Kerry Washington ed Eva Longoria.

But it will be the musical line-up that will give us more satisfaction. Yes, because the performances will be worthy of a festival. The first to announce its participation was Demi Lovato: «When they asked me to sing – wrote on Instagram – I was literally speechless“. I expect a super performance of Commander in chief, the song the singer wrote against the former president last October Donald Trump and to get people to vote.

There will be then Justin Timberlake who has already stated which song he will sing during the evening: it is Better days, written in collaboration Ant-Clemons. In fact, the song’s inspiration came precisely from the political messages of Joe Biden and the recording of the vocals was done just as his victory in the elections was announced. Given the high symbolic value, we could not have chosen a better occasion to present it.

But the names on the list are not finished: they will also take the stage John Legend, Jon Bon Jovi, Bruce Springsteen e i Foo Fighters. It must be said that everything will take place when it will be late at night in Italy, but in the absence of real concerts this is definitely an opportunity not to be missed. For those who don’t like the small hours, instead, come on Spotify there is already the official playlist of the event. I’ve already added it to my library.
