G. Kavvathas (GSEVEE): It is necessary to impose a ceiling on the retail and wholesale price of energy

The need to reconsider the way of calculating prices in energy but also the imposition of a ceiling on retail and wholesale prices underlined during his speech the President of the General Confederation of Professional Craftsmen and Merchants of Greece Mr. George Kavvathas from the podium of the 8th Panhellenic Conference of POVAS, which took place in the city of Agrinio at Papastratio Megaron from 27 to 29 May 2022.

On the third day of the Conference, which had as its central motto “The Future belongs to the Industry and Manufacturers”, in his speech, the President of GSEVEE pointed out the difficult environment for businesses due to the effects of rising energy costs and stressed that Although the government has taken a series of measures of 5 billion euros, these are not enough to be able to support businesses and households that are called upon to bear the burden of price increases.

“We are living in a multi-layered crisis, which has been particularly acute since the war in Ukraine,” Kavvathas said, adding that “no one can say for sure where and when inflationary pressures can end.” the way and the mixture of calculating the energy price should be the goal for the solution of the problem and how it is necessary to impose a ceiling, both in the wholesale and in the retail price of the energy.

During his speech, the President of GSEVEE also conveyed the greetings of the Presidency of GSEVEE and stressed that POVAS is a pioneer Federation, especially in the field of education, while praising the effort made over the last twenty years.
