Britain to host the G7 foreign and development ministers of the Group of Seven (G7) and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) at a conference in Liverpool from 10 December to 12 December. London.
The conference will address issues including financial resilience after COVID-19, global health and human rights, the British Foreign Office said in a statement.
The ministers who will take part in the conference are the ministers of Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia, according to the same source, who added that this is the first participation of ASEAN ministers in a conference of G7 foreign ministers and that this development reflects “Britain’s growing shift towards India and the Pacific”.
Britain holds the rotating G7 presidency for 2021 and is already hosting the COP World Climate Conference in Glasgow this month and the G7 leaders’ conference at the Caribbean Beach resort in June.
