The price of gasoline hit a new record, according to a survey by the National Agency for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) across the country.
The average price of fuel was BRL 7,270 per liter in the week of April 17 to 23, surpassing the previous record of BRL 7,267, recorded in the week of March 13 to 19.
In some stations in the city of São Paulo, gasoline is sold at R$ 8,599 per liter.
Compared to last week, gasoline rose 0.7%, according to the ANP survey.
Fuel was the biggest impact on the National Consumer Price Index 15 (IPCA-15) for April, released this Wednesday (27) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), up 7.51%.
Diesel rose 0.2% from April 17 to 23, reaching an average of R$ 6.6 a liter in the country’s average, with the highest price recorded in Acre, R$ 7.9 a liter.
Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) had its price reduced to R$ 113.24, down 0.3% from the R$ 113.66 recorded in the previous week.
The maximum price found was R$ 160.00, in Caçador, Santa Catarina.
