The story follows two characters, Emma and Dexter, through the years. The narrative is very interesting, since it only shows us their lives on a specific day each year: July 15. For 18 years, we have this little window into their lives and we can witness their friendship evolve. The heartwarming finale will bring more than one tear to your eyes, guaranteed.
Recall that there is already an adaptation to the big screen: the 2011 movie, Always the same day, starring Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess, whose screenplay was written by the author of the book. If you are interested in seeing it, the good news is that the movie is currently in the Netflix catalog.
To give you a better idea of the plot, the official synopsis of the series on the Netflix site reads as follows:
Based on the best-selling novel by David Nicholls. An epic and tragicomic love story, each episode catches up to the central characters Em and Dex on a particular day, July 15, as they grow and change, move together and separate, experience joy and heartache. .
