Girl walks with an alligator on a leash in a park and they discover why she has it

An alligator came out of its waters to surprise passers-by in Love Park, in Philadelphia, United States. The “dangerous” animal was walked by a girl on a leash while she cooled off in the local fountains.

The peculiar moment was recorded on video and went viral on TikTok. But the most surprising thing about the case is that the reptile was not wild, but rather an emotional support animal.

In an interview with CNN, Joie Henney, owner of the alligator identified as Wally, said he is a veteran reptile rescuer, which is why he has known how to tame the animal for six years.

Wally has been very different from any gator I’ve dealt with in the last thirty years. He shows no anger. He does not show aggressiveness. He hasn’t since the day he was captured. We could never understand why.

Henney got Wally an emotional support animal license, as his quirky, gentle pet was a comfort to him during his cancer treatment. In addition, he helps his children control their anxiety levels.

Regarding the video of the walk in Love Park, Henney said that “people came as soon as they heard that Wally was there to get a hug and take a picture with him.”

The peculiar alligator already has a TikTok account, where, so far, it has more than 73 thousand followers, with whom Henney and her family share their incredible adventures.
