Girlfriend spends all her savings on her dream dress and ended up getting scammed

Once the brides receive the engagement ring, what they think about the most is the dress they will wear on the wedding day. Unfortunately, finding someone to make your dream design is not so easy and in the end some can be scammed.

Something like that lived Pauli Arevalos, a Twitter user who was in charge of telling her followers how the designer Fernando Preda made her spend all her savings so that in the end he delivered a very low-quality dress that had nothing to do with what Pauli had dreamed of.

In a Twitter thread, Pauli recounted everything he experienced

Pauli said that the design and coordination of the dress was always done remotely, because the designer Fernando Preda lives in Tulum. Since she contacted him there was cordiality, both agreed on what the design would be, as he was in charge of sending her different sketches until they decided on one. In addition, they talked about the materials, the budget and a monthly payment scheme so that the dress would be ready in January 2021.

The dress would cost a total of $ 2,870, an amount that Pauli had saved and was willing to pay for what would be “the dress of her dreams.” Every month he was in charge of making the money deposits in a timely manner so that the designer could buy the fabrics, pearls and materials to make it.

Pauli asked for pictures of the trailer, but only got excuses

The girlfriend was so excited that it didn’t bother her that Fernando was constantly asking her for money, even though she had been left without a job due to the pandemic. But the worst of all is that the months passed and although he assured that the dress was almost ready, he never sent photographs of the advances, all he said was that he was in the sewing workshop, with the tailor or made an excuse for the difference of schedules.

Despite everything and due to the friendship that existed between them, she continued to trust and eagerly await her dress. So soon they reached 2021, the delivery date had finally arrived, but again Fernando made more excuses and demanded the rest of $ 20 to finish the garment.

Her dress was finally finished

Apparently, all the payment was cleared and Pauli began to get more demanding with the delivery date, as she was worried that the dress would not arrive for her wedding day, which would be celebrated in June. Finally, in April they agreed that he would surrender, but he asked him for more money to buy a special box, a bag and pay for the transfer, since he claimed that these would be “extra expenses”.

Although Pauli did not give him the amount he demanded, he did deposit a considerable amount and all so that he was finally in for a nasty surprise.

But it was far from what I had asked for

The dress did not have the embroidery that Fernando assured him that it had taken more than three weeks to make, it did not have the necessary adjustments and it was not the size that Pauli had requested. Also, it was stained with pen ink and instead of putting it in a box, he just put a cloth bag on top. Anyway, it was a disaster.

And what about Fernando’s response?

The case went so viral that the designer came forward, but said that he did do the job as asked. In an interview for the show Breaking the hours, the designer said that the delay was only due to the pandemic, but that he had loved working with Pauli and assured that he did not know what had happened to the stains and the carving.

Of course he apologized to her and everyone who was offended. In addition, he said that he wanted to reach an agreement with the girl to remedy the mistake.

Pauli in the end bought another dress

The girl was disappointed, but she had no more money, so she went to a second-hand place and there she found a beautiful dress just two days before the wedding.
