He made us all dream **The Gladiator **and finally the wait is over and the sequel to the blockbuster by Ridley Scott arrives in Italian cinemas (just tomorrow, November 14th). For this special occasion, Airbnb has thought of an exclusive experience to offer its guests.
For centuries the Colosseum has been the scene of epic battles and hosted legendary gladiators. Now, for the first time in nearly 2,000 years, Rome’s arena returns to its original purpose as a performance venue, inviting daring warriors to battle within.
Live a night like gladiators thanks to Airbnb
People interested in be gladiators for a night will be able to request to book one of the two three-hour experiences that will be held, respectively, on May 7 and 8, 2025inside the Colosseum, in Rome (the cost of the experience is free).
The maximum number of participants is 16 people, divided into 8 pairs. The warriors will each meet their duelist in front of the Colosseumafter sunset and they will enter the arena together to fight. Descending into the underground spaces where gladiators in ancient Rome prepared for battle, the participants they will wear armor and they will take on the identity of some of the most famous gladiators.
There will be Mirmilloni, Thracians, Provocateurs, Retiari and Contraretes fighting. At this point, passing through the labyrinthine bowels of the Colosseum, participants will retrace the historic steps of Maximus and many other warriorswho have really struggled here before. Before the real fight, expert gladiators will perform a special show, exclusive to the participants of the Airbnb experience (from which perhaps they can take inspiration for some moves).
And between a taste of food and a workout, it will finally arrive the moment of the challenge with your partner. A judge will determine the winner.
How to book the gladiator experience at the Colosseum with Airbnb
From 3pm on 27 November 2024 just go on the Airbnb website dedicated to this experience to request to participate. There will be time until 8.9am on 10 December 2024. Participants will then have to independently organize their own round trip to and from Rome.
