“Glee” , a classic musical series, is turning exactly 15 years old this Sunday (19). Launched by the North American channel Fox in 2009, the production had its last episode aired in 2015.
For six seasons, “Glee” explored different formations of the McKinley school choir group, which sang covers of iconic songs by artists from the music scene.
Lea Michele (Rachel Berry) and Cory Monteith (Finn Hudson) stood out as the protagonists. Together, they headlined the first major cover of the series, “Don't Stop Believin'”, by the group Journey, as well as other highlights, such as “The Scientist”, by the band Coldplay.
Other notable songs were heard in the voices of Naya Rivera (Santana Lopez), who starred in “Valerie”, by Amy Winehouse, Darren Criss (Blaine), who moved with a new version of “Teenage Dream”, by Katy Perry and Amber Riley ( Mercedes Jones), in a mashup of two songs by singer Adele.
One of the great features of “Glee” was still paying homage to great names in music, with episodes that contained songs entirely dedicated to him. This was the case with names like Madonna, The Beatles, Michael Jackson and Britney Spears.
Most of the time, the series used music to make the characters express their feelings more easily and clearly. One of the biggest moments that represents this was the first episode of the fifth season, first recorded after the death of Cory Monteith.
Lea Michele and Naya Rivera (who also died a few years later) were truly moved when they sang “Make You Feel My Love” and “If I Die Young”, respectively.
There were many songs that left an impression on “Glee” fans. Nothing better than celebrating 15 years of the series with remarkable covers performed by the production members. Below, the CNN brings together 15 of them. Check out!
