Goalkeeper Bruno is prevented by organizers from playing in the floodplain championship in SP

Goalkeeper Bruno, sentenced to 22 years and three months in prison for the murder of Eliza Samudio, was prevented from playing in the Super Pioneer Cup 2023, a floodplain championship organized in the capital of São Paulo.

Last Tuesday (21), the player had been announced by Orion FC, a club from Jardim Noronha, south of São Paulo.

In note (read full below) released this Friday (24), the organization of the event stated that “at no time was the player authorized to compete in the competition, without any official registration approved by the responsible team”.

Also according to the statement, the decision to ban Bruno was made, above all, “in favor of all the women who make up the Super Cup Pioneer Netshoes, from professionals, volunteers and fans”.

“We repudiate any type of violence against women and accepting their participation would be extremely harmful to the principles and values ​​of the tournament”, concludes the note.

In view of the announcement by goalkeeper Bruno, made last night (21), by one of the teams entered in our competition, we state that the athlete will not compete in the Pioneer Netshoes Super Cup.

Although the regulation allows the registration of players during the course of the championship, we emphasize that at no time was the player allowed to compete in the competition, without any official registration approved by the responsible team.

This decision was taken unanimously by the organization and governing body of the competition, and which is necessary, especially in favor of all the women who make up the Super Pioneer Netshoes Cup, from professionals, volunteers and fans.
