Google has released Android 13 Beta 3: only one step to a stable release

Today, June 9, Google officially released the third beta version of the Android operating system for all supported Pixel smartphones. It is worth noting that this happened almost a month after the company released the second beta version – the release took place just in time, in full accordance with the previously published schedule. And if Google developers continue to stick to their roadmap, then the last fourth beta version of the new operating system will be presented in July, after which the company will make the final release of the stable version on all supported smartphones this autumn.

Google representatives said that with the third beta version of Android 13, they have achieved the necessary stability of the new system (Platform Stability segment on the roadmap), which is extremely important for application developers from around the world. The fact is that now all the interaction mechanisms related to applications in the operating system and the Android 13 APIs are final, which means that most developers can start working on the compatibility of their applications with the new operating system. After all, from the moment the third beta version was launched until the final release, there will be no cardinal changes in this direction.

In addition, along with Beta 3, the Android 13 operating system receives several important updates. OS developers have focused on privacy and security, performance improvements, as well as improved support for tablets and large screens – this can be said to be a continuation of the ideas embodied in Android 12L. Users also get new permissions to receive notifications, a new photo selection tool for sharing between devices, a variety of themed app icons, language support for each individual app, plus support for modern HDR video standards, Bluetooth LE Audio and MIDI 2.0.
