Google now tracks crypto wallets and their balances

Google has integrated a new feature into its search service. Now users can track crypto wallet by address and view its balance.

The service covers several popular networks, including Bitcoin, Arbitrum, Optimism, Polygon, Avalanche and Fanton. When you enter your wallet address, the search engine displays the balance of tokens in your account.

It is worth noting that according to Google, the service only shows the native token for each of the mentioned networks. At the same time, the relevance of the account balance corresponds to the data at the time of the last transaction, as stated in a special footnote.

In other words, updates do not occur instantly, but in accordance with the latest activity of the wallet.

Some time ago, the Google search service began displaying the balance of wallets associated with Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains. The company pulls data about these addresses from the block explorer and the Etherscan analytical platform.

ENS is an online service that assigns a custom domain associated with your wallet account address. It simplifies the search and access of the account, making it easier for the user to interact with it.

It is worth noting that starting in 2024, Google has updated its policy regarding digital assets and related products. In particular, the corporation allowed advertising of cryptocurrency ETFs targeting the United States.
