Google Trends: Users are seriously interested in Bankman-Freed

According to Google, interest in the identity of the founder of FTX increased after the default of the exchange and related events, bypassing the number of requests about the former head of the previously collapsed Terra project.

Google Trends data shows that searches for Sam Bankman-Fried were 185.7% higher in November than searches for former Terra CEO Do Kwon were during the collapse of the project in May.

Searches for the former FTX CEO have surpassed searches for Three Arrows Capital co-founder and CEO Su Zhu and Craig Wright, who claims to be Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. The early collapse of Terra was considered the biggest mistake in the history of cryptocurrencies, until six months later, the FTX exchange took the place of the most unsuccessful project.

Since November, the crypto community has been openly critical of Bankman-Fried and his associates, including Caroline Ellison. On the other hand, the mainstream media published material that smoothed over the former FTX executive’s wrongdoing. Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao, among others, drew attention to such publications.

Last week, Sam Bankman-Fried apologized to his staff and admitted to ineffective oversight of client assets.
