The President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, and the new Minister of Mines and Energy, Adolfo Sachsida, decided to reappoint members of the Executive Board of Itaipu Binacional and appoint the former Director-General of the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel) André Pepitone da Nóbrega as new member of the collegiate, to exercise the function of executive financial director of the company.
The decrees with the reappointments and appointment of Pepitone in the company are in the Official Gazette of the Union (DOU) this Tuesday (17).
According to the acts, AnataliciO Risden Junior (Brazilian General Director of Itaipu Binacional) was reappointed; Mariana Favoreto Thiele (Legal Director); David Rodrigues Krug (Executive Technical Director); Luiz Felipe Kraemer Carbonell (Coordinating Director); and Paulo Roberto da Silva Xavier (Administrative Director).
All of them will have a new term in office, which runs until May 16, 2027. Pepitone’s term will also last the same.
The exoneration of Pepitone from Aneel is also formalized in this Tuesday’s publication (17). As the Broadcast (Grupo Estado’s real-time news system) reported earlier, with the departure of Pepitone, whose term would initially end in August, the substitute director Camila Bomfim will head the agency.
The forecast is that she will assume the position this week and remain until August, when director Sandoval Feitosa, who has already had his nomination approved by the Senate, will take office to command the agency.
The Official Gazette also reports the dismissal of Elisa Bastos Silva from the position of director of Aneel. With the end of her term, Agnes Maria de Aragão da Costa was nominated for the vacancy by President Bolsonaro and then had her name approved by the Senate. Agnes and other directors approved by lawmakers were appointed last month to posts at the agency.
