Grammy 2023: See Anitta’s main competitors in the Breakthrough Artist category

The ceremony of the 65th edition of the Grammy Awards, the main award in the music industry, takes place this Sunday (5), at 10 pm [horário de Brasília]in Los Angeles, in the United States.

The singer Anitta is the only Brazilian nominated as an artist. She competes in the Revelation category.

Considered a strong candidate to win the award, the Brazilian singer will have other strong competitors to consecrate herself in the 2023 edition as a winner

Måneskin

Italian rock group Måneskin

Anitta’s main competitor at the award is the Italian rock band Måneskin.

Formed in 2016, the group formed by Damiano David (vocals), Victoria De Angelis (bass), Thomas Raggi (guitar) and Ethan Torchio (drums) gained notoriety for the first time in 2017, after participating in the Italian television program X Factor, when they finished in second place.

Måneskin gained worldwide success in 2021, after the track “Beggin”, a cover of the song by “The Four Seasons”, originally released in 1967. The song was chosen by Billboard as the best rock song of 2022, at the Billboard Music Awards.

The group has three albums in its discography: “Il ballo della vita” (2018), “Teatro d’ira: Vol. I” (2021) and Rush! (2023).

Latto

Latto Rapper

Alyssa Michelle Stephens, known as Latto, also began to gain notoriety after appearing on a reality music show, winning the first season of The Rap Game in 2016.

The rapper’s success increased after the release of her first single, “Bitch From Da Souf”, which added more than 200 million streams on Spotify and Apple, even earning platinum certification.

The artist signed with RCA Records in 2019 and has released two albums since then: Queen of da Souf (2020) and 777 (2022).

Muni Long

R&B singer Muni Long

Priscilla Renea has spent a good portion of her career as a songwriter, working for the likes of Rihanna, Mariah Carey, Madonna, Chris Brown and Selena Gomez.

After more than a decade of composing, Priscilla decided to adopt the name Muni Long, and embarked on a solo career.

Fluctuating in styles such as R&B, rap and pop, the singer released two albums in 2021: Nobody Knows and Public Displays of Affection.

At the 2023 Grammy Awards, in addition to competing for the award for best new artist, she also competes for the award for best R&B song, with the single “Hrs & Hrs”.
