Granny cries with happiness when they give her a puppy; they had refused to adopt one

During the quarantine, hundreds of people in Peru decided to adopt dogs and kittens so as not to feel alone. However, once everything was almost back to normal, they started returning them with silly excuses like they didn’t have the space or time to take care of them.

Most of the shelters received them back and put them up for adoption again. Unfortunately, they do not allow older adults to adopt them because they are already too “old” to care for them. At least this is what a grandmother was told when she wanted to adopt a puppy.

She just wanted a partner to love and care for

Andrea Hijar, a Twitter user, told a few days ago the story that her grandparents lived. According to what he says, both went to an animal shelter to try to adopt a puppy and not feel so alone. Unfortunately, all of them were denied the option due to their age. Here can you watch the video.

According to the statistics made in 2018 by the Animal Voice Organization in Peru, there are six million dogs abandoned or that were returned to shelters. However, this couple was not allowed to adopt.

When the woman received her puppy she couldn’t help crying

Given the situation and because she saw her grandparents too sad, Andrea took action on the matter and decided to surprise them with a puppy. When her grandmother saw it, her reaction was beautiful and it stole the hearts of all users.

The happiness and emotion that the woman had on her face was indescribable and she even shed some tears when she saw the puppy. The couple of grandparents assured that they could take very good care of the animal, but especially that they would give it a lot of love.

The grandparents named him Princess in honor of another dog they had, but who died several years ago.

Not the first couple to be denied adoption

Comment on twitter about denying adoption to grandparents

Apparently, denying the adoption of puppies in Peru is quite common. Some people responded to the publication and in all, the situation was the same, the age. Hopefully shelter owners and caregivers reconsider, because everyone deserves to care for and love a puppy no matter how old they are.
