The cities of the metropolitan region of São Paulo, which includes the capital of São Paulo, have registered their month of September with the lowest minimum temperature in the last 30 years. The information is from the state Civil Defense.
According to the agency, the average temperature for a month of September is usually estimated at 14.4º Celsius (C), but this year, with 11 days to go before the month ends, the average has been 13.3º C, that is. , 1.1°C lower.
The lower temperatures are associated with the passage of cold fronts over the region, accompanied by a mass of cold air.
“All this is due to the lack of formation of so many atmospheric blockages that prevent the advance of meteorological systems across the territory of São Paulo. In addition, after the passage of these systems, there is a change in the direction of the winds, which begin to predominate from the south quadrant, bringing a greater drop in temperatures and a more intense cold sensation”, informed the Civil Defense.
“The cold sensation that we have been feeling this September is in fact being confirmed in the available meteorological models. People are noticing a colder month, but it is actually colder,” said Colonel PM Henguel Ricardo, state coordinator for Civil Defense and Protection, in a note.
The state Civil Defense warns that, with this colder weather, the most vulnerable people such as children, the elderly and homeless people need to receive more attention and keep warm.

According to the São Paulo Climate Emergency Management Center (CGE), the last days of winter, which ends next Thursday (22), will be marked by unstable and rainy weather in the state of São Paulo.
Tomorrow (20), the thermometers can reach 26º C, but in the afternoon and evening there are forecasts of rain with risk of flooding. On Wednesday (21), the rain continues and the minimum reaches 15º C, with the maximum not exceeding 22º C.
