Greece acquires ‘New National Framework for Interoperability of Public Services’

The “New National Framework for Interoperability of Public Services”, an emblematic work of the Digital Transformation Bible, was presented at the conference organized on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 by the Ministry of Digital Government.

Sixty public and private sector actors working in the field of digital services and ICT projects, as well as representatives of the academic community from eight University Institutions, were informed in detail about the “New National Interoperability Framework”, while at the same time laying the foundations for continuous collaboration to accelerate the creation of interoperable digital services.

The new Digital Portal for the National Interoperability Framework was also presented during the meeting (www.e-gif.gov.gr), which will be the central point of cooperation, information and public participation of all stakeholders at national level.

The new “Framework”, which is updated after a whole decade, is in line with the current European Interoperability Framework, the guidelines of the new European Interoperability Strategy, the current national institutional framework, but also the current technological developments.

“Plaisio” is a critical priority for our country, in order to respond properly and effectively to the processes of design, evaluation and implementation of digital ICT services and projects, which include interoperabilities implemented by the Interoperability Center of the General Secretariat of Information Systems Administration. In this way, the absorption of resources from the Fund for Recovery and Sustainability is substantially strengthened, as well as the new operational program of the NSRF.

Furthermore, “Plaisio” for the first time incorporates a dynamic collaborative governance model in order for our country to be able to adapt in time to the changes that occur, both at European and national level, in the field of interoperability. At the same time, it provides a practical guide to creating integrated interoperable services.

It is worth noting that for the formation of the new framework, the project “Development of a new National Framework for Interoperability of Public Services” was implemented in the framework of a Program Contract between the Ministry of Digital Government and the International University of Greece. The Project Team included research associates from the International University, the University of Macedonia, Harokopio University and ASPAITE, as well as officials from the General Secretariat for Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures and the General Secretariat for Information.

The event was greeted by the General Secretaries of Digital Governance and Simplification of Procedures Leonidas Christopoulos, Information Systems of Public Administration Demosthenes Anagnostopoulos, Vocational Education, Training, Lifelong Learning and Youth Service of Giorgos K. Anigos .
