Greek-German: 90 students from 7 EPAL in the Green Laboratories Online Labs

With the participation of a total of 90 students from 7 Vocational High Schools (EPAL) in the greater area of ​​Piraeus, the Online Green Entrepreneurship Laboratories were completed, which took place within the GreenTecLab project “Empowerment of start-ups for climate protection” and and the Chamber of Industry and the Chamber of Crafts of Piraeus.

The green entrepreneurship workshops were held online on December 6, 7, 13 & 14, and were organized in memory of the late President of BEP, Andrianos Michalaros, who had a vision of promoting and upgrading vocational education and training in the technical professions. The ultimate goal of the seminars was the development of “green” business ideas, with the prospect of their transformation into “sustainable” startups by students of EPAL.

The Green Entrepreneurship Laboratories were greeted by Ioannis Tsakiris, Deputy Minister of Development and Investment, Georgios Voutsinos, Secretary General of Vocational Education, Training and Lifelong Learning of the Ministry of Education, Konstantinos – Evangelos Kargatos Yavagikos Aravtasos Gravatos Chairman of the Publications Committee of the Eugenides Foundation.

Also, Natalis Petrovits, Architect, Piraeus Tower Project Manager presented the study of the Piraeus Tower as a sustainable building and Christos Nikoloudis, Founder and CEO of MantisBusiness Innovation presented the Greek New Business Ecosystem Greece – Elev.

In the middle of 2022, the competition of business ideas is planned to take place, where the participants will present their business ideas and then the three most innovative in the fields environment, smart and sustainable city / port, innovative products and advanced materials will be distinguished. This competition is a minimal tribute to the memory of the late President of BEP, Andrianos Michalaros.

The GreenTecLab project is funded by the European Climate Protection Initiative (EUKI) of the Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, coordinated by Fiap eV and co-sponsored by the University of Cadiz, the University of Cadiz from Spain, Pedal-Consulting from Slovakia and from Greece the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It is noted that in Athens the GreenTecLab project is implemented in collaboration with the Piraeus Chamber of Crafts and is under the auspices of the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Ministry of Development and Investment and the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy.

Supporters of the project for the actions in Athens are: Academy of Entrepreneurship Training, Electra Energy, “ETHOS LAB” Research Center for Governance and Sustainability PC. & Institute of Local History Study, Patras Science Park, The People’s Trust and Uni.fund.
