The actress Kali Rocha 52, known for playing Sydney Heron in “Grey’s Anatomy” will return for the 21st season of the series. After 17 years since her last appearance on the medical drama, the artist is scheduled to star in three episodes, as published by Deadline.
Heron made her debut on the show during episode 15 of season 2. At the time, audiences met her as a lively fourth-year resident who replaced Bailey (Chandra Wilson ) – who went on maternity leave – to manage the interns.
Kali also returned in the following two seasons (3rd and 4th), as Izzie’s advisor (Katherine Heigl ) shortly after Denny’s death (Jeffrey Dean Morgan ).
This isn’t the first time that filmmaker and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes has brought well-known characters into her work. In season 18, for example, it was Addison’s (Kate Walsh) turn to return to the story.
In season 20, Jessica Capshaw brought Arizona back after a five-and-a-half-year hiatus. And Scott Speedman became a series regular during season 19, three and a half years after his character, Nick, was introduced.
