hacker attack
The Ministry of Health’s website went offline this morning after an attack by the hacker collective Lapsus$ Group. In all, 50 terabytes of information would have been stolen from the system and would be in the group’s possession. Ministry portals, such as the ConnectSUS application, which features proof of vaccination against Covid-19, are also out of operation.
Brazil Aid
The first installment in the amount of R$ 400 of the AuxÃlio Brasil starts to be paid this Friday. Beneficiaries with a Social Identification Number (NIS) ending in 1 will be the first to receive the amount. Caixa expects payments to be completed by the 23rd.
Summit for Democracy
President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) participates today, virtually, in the Summit for Democracy. The event is organized by the President of the United States, Joe Biden, and brings together several world leaders. Bolsonaro must defend free internet and a level playing field in the offline and online environment.
Corruption in the pandemic
In data obtained exclusively by the CNN, a survey by the Federal Comptroller General (CGU) points out that the diversion of funds earmarked for combating the pandemic in states and municipalities can reach R$ 300 million. In 2020 alone, the CGU carried out 47 operations to investigate illegalities with resources for Covid-19.
Kiss club
The judgment of the jury that investigates the fire in the Kiss Nightclub, in Santa Maria (RS), must be handed down today. Four defendants are awaiting the outcome of the judgment, which is now taking 10 days, in Porto Alegre. The tragedy left 242 dead and 636 injured in January 2013.
