Bloomberg, citing confidential sources, reported that the hedge fund of the cryptocurrency investment company BlockTower Capital was attacked by attackers.

BlockTower enlisted the help of blockchain security experts to figure out how the hack occurred. At the same time, the company administration does not publicly disclose the direction of the hacker attack and the volume of stolen funds. By data PitchBook analytical platform, BlockTower manages assets worth about $1.7 billion.

Last year, following the financial collapse of FTX and Galois Capital, BlockTower was forced close its market-neutral fund, which controlled more than $100 million, and return capital to investors. Then the company also did not specify the amount of financial losses, limiting itself to the statement that this was a proactive decision related to the exhaustion of investment opportunities for this strategy.

Previously, Singaporean law firm Shook Lin & Bok was attacked by Akira ransomware. The company paid the hackers compensation in the amount of 21.07 BTC (approximately $1.4 million).
