New challenges from Turkish government in Hagia Sophiathis time with a religious ceremony attended by dozens of students who recited excerpts from the Koran. About 35 students, according to SKAI, dressed in white and recited the Koran at the World Heritage Site.
It is reminded that the release of the new ones is expected in August passports in Turkey and the document will have on its main pages the image of Hagia Sophia which has been turned into a mosque for the past two years causing the reaction of the Greek state, but also of international bodies.
As the Turkish president claimed, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, when the new passports become available in the coming months, they will be decorated with various monuments – landmarks of his country. Among them the Hagia Sophia and the palace of Topkapi.
