Halima Hadir: “How to overcome prejudices and not believe stereotypes”

You were Head of the Moroccan Economic Promotion Office in Milan. But why, and how, could an Italian invest in Morocco?
«Morocco is a country that is culturally and geographically close to Italy. It is a stable, young country and has a well-defined and coherent development policy. The state has invested heavily in training by creating universities and professional centers capable of offering human resources to carry out simpler jobs or jobs that require high levels of hi-tech skills. It is a country that has invested heavily in the logistics necessary to connect to the rest of the world, and today has one of the most important ports in the Mediterranean. I think that for an Italian who wishes to invest in Morocco the points of reference are the Moroccan embassy and the Moroccan investment development agency (AMDI), but also the Italian Chamber of Commerce and ICE ».

If you were to say what has been most teaching you in life, what would you say?
«It was the new challenges and the confrontation with people that gave me the most important teachings. They question everything you know, and allow you to get to know yourself better. In this way you learn to know your limits better and better, which are what you can improve on yourself, and highlight your strengths, which once valued become your best allies “.
