The first “Halloween” was released in 1978. Subtitled “The Night of Terror” and directed by John Carpenter, it introduced the public to a six-year-old Michael Myers, who brutally murders his teenage sister, Judith.

He is convicted and detained for 15 years in an institution under constant surveillance by Dr. Sam Loomis. In 1978, on Halloween Eve, the killer steals a car and escapes from Smith’s Grove sanitarium. He returns to his quiet hometown of Haddonfield, Illinois, where he searches for his next victims.
