Hamas releases two more hostages; release was not foreseen in agreement, says Israel

Hamas released two more hostages this Wednesday (29). The release takes place after negotiations by the Kremlin, according to the armed group’s press.

Both released detainees migrated from Russia to Israel, the family forum said in a statement. Are they:

  • Yelena Trupanob
  • Irena Tati

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are inside Israeli territory and, after they undergo an initial medical assessment, IDF soldiers will continue to accompany them to hospitals, where they will be reunited with their families.

On October 7, both Irena and Yelena were kidnapped from their homes on kibbutz Nir Oz, along with Yelena’s 28-year-old son Sasha and his girlfriend Sapir Cohen (29), who are still held captive in Gaza, according to the missing families forum.

Yelena’s husband, Vitaly, was killed during the October 7 attack, the forum reported.
