A new scandal has erupted around the popular “tapalka” Hamster Kombat. Eduard Gurinovich, who bought the rights to the game’s trademark, is being asked to pay a portion of the profits.
Investors in Arenum, a company founded by Eduard Gurinovich, are laying claim to a share of the profits from Hamster Kombat. In their opinion, the entrepreneur is deliberately hiding his connection to the project so as not to share the money with anyone, they write “Vedomosti“.
Arenum Investors Unhappy With Hamster Kombat Profit Distribution
Arenum investors claim that the Hamster Kombat tap was created on the company’s premises and using its resources. Therefore, they demand a share of the profits from the project, claiming that they had verbal agreements with Gurinovich on the distribution of income.
In June of this year, information emerged that Russian businessman Eduard Gurinovich was behind the development of Hamster Kombat. He later announced that he had become the game’s “exclusive partner in Russia” by purchasing the rights to the trademark. The creators and developers of the clicker game remain unknown.
Some investors claim they were not aware of the development of the hamster and have not received financial statements about the company in recent years. They believe their investments were used to create the tapalka.
However, the situation was aggravated by the fact that Gurinovich provided contradictory information to investors. He told some that he had nothing to do with the project, while confirming his connection to others. At the same time, the entrepreneur specified that the “tapalka” was developed outside of Arenum.
At the end of August, the businessman agreed to return the investment. However, investors consider the terms of this deal unfair.
Expert opinions and possible outcomes
The legal situation remains complicated. Investors claim that the “hamster” was created on the basis of Arenum, but there may not be enough evidence to prove this.
Experts disagree on the legitimacy of the investors’ demands. Some admit that Hamster Kombat could indeed have been developed using Arenum resources. This provides grounds for the claims.
However, others believe that since Arenum does not formally own the rights to the game, investors cannot claim a share of the profits.
Earlier, a similar problem was described by the publication “Lenta.ru” (the article has now been removed) with reference to the CEO of AD.RU Anton Gorshkov. The company allegedly invested $600 thousand in Hamster Kombat, receiving an 18.6% stake in the project for this. Gurinovich subsequently refused to share the profit.
However, in a comment to BeInCrypto, Gorshkov stated that he actually has no “claims against Hamster Kombat, the game team, or persons associated with them, including Eduard Gurinovich.”
