He sells his car for lack of money and his alumni return it to him

In the world there are two types of teachers: those who limit themselves to teaching and qualifying, and those who leave their mark on the heart of each student. Proof of the latter is Marcelo Siqueira, a retired teacher who, after a few years, saw his work rewarded.

Due to the economic crisis derived from the covid-19 pandemic, Siqueira was left without monetary resources, for which he was forced to sell his little bochito. One of his former students found out what was happening and with the help of his friends he raised enough money to support his former teacher in a very peculiar way.

For 26 years, Siqueira was a teacher of History and Geography at the Doña Carola de Curitiba state school, in Brazil. With his first wages he bought a Volkswawen Beetle that has been with him for more than 50 years.

Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic led him to retire, and the money he receives from his pension is not enough to cover household expenses. So he made the painful decision to sell his car.

Claudio Martins, a former student from Siqueira, learned that the man put his car up for sale and almost instantly organized a WhatsApp group with other former colleagues. They all agreed to raise the necessary money and buy the vehicle of their beloved teacher.

Once the money was collected, the alumni organized a surprise that included television cameras and the complicity of Siqueira’s son.

When the day arrived, the television station interviewed Siqueira’s son about the sale of the car, then they told the professor to take one last lap in his car before the buyer arrived. At that moment a friend of the family took the wheel, but stopped a few meters later, pretending that the car had failed. Then the professor’s former students appeared, who explained what was happening and gave him the keys to his car.

In addition, they told him that they would help him remodel the vehicle so that it would be in better condition and would not have problems when transporting. Siqueira burst into tears with that gesture of gratitude. And incidentally, his former students told him that his advice and help were of the utmost importance to become good men and women.
